Artist Bev Fairclo-Ott has been painting watercolors for over twenty years. She grew up in Tulelake, California, very close to the Oregon border in the Klamath Basin. Bev currently resides in Klamath Falls, Oregon known as a regional center for ranching and agricultural activities. The basin is famous for hosting major bird migrations and for being habitat friendly to many other native animals.
Bev grew up on a horse ranch and her work reflects her life experiences. She fondly remembers riding though mountains full of juniper, wild flowers, and deer. One of her best memories comes from observing her dad plow a field only to draw in thousands of snow geese and Canada geese for a feeding frenzy. She also studied great blue herons and egrets as they hung out in the canals on the ranch and was enchanted with their beauty.
Bev's watercolor paintings are diverse in subject matter with flowers, oriental art, native American themes, horses, and western art images dominating the collection. Painting watercolor s has been an ongoing journey for Bev. There is always something new and interesting to learn and it takes time to master each new skill. She frequently does multiple paintings in one day as her love for painting turns the experience into pure fun. She also enjoys teaching other adults and children the joy of watercolor painting.
Bev has also discovered a love for photography. Her favorite subjects are local aspen trees that dot the Klamath Basin with great color spots. She is currently using photographs to help document the culture of the rural west: its landscape, its history, and its people.
For the past six years, Bev has been married to her husband Larry who is her high school sweet heart. Larry has been a great supporter of her art career and has helped her launch an ambitious gallery marketing effort. Her original paintings and limited edition giclee prints are displayed in galleries through out Oregon, Washington and California. Her top quality giclee prints are in limited editions of two hundred and fifty. They are numbered, signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.
Bev's hope is that you enjoy her art!
